The Akron Rotary Camp has provided summer camp and year-round respite for children with disabilities and their families for nearly 100 years! Through camp programs, our campers develop social skills and independence, challenge their perceived limits, and create memories and friendships. Additionally, Rotary Camp programs provide parents and caregivers much needed respite and support so they can work, rest, and obtain the resources they need to support their children.
The proceeds for the Regatta always support the capital needs of Rotary Camp. From our first Regatta supporting the Recreational and Resource Center to funding Adventure Park, our campers and staff have access to modern and safe facilities and program centers. This year, your support will help us develop our lakefront. As camp is built on a hill, we continually battle erosion that creates safety concerns along our walkways and beach. Additionally, we are looking to enhance our swim area by surrounding it with floating docks so it provides a barrier to public boaters and increases lifeguard surveillance. In addition to fixing the safety concerns, we will continue to enhance our programs by creating a sensory park, interactive garden spaces, and add new water vessels to our fleet.
Thank you so much for supporting Akron Rotary Camp and the 2022 Regatta. Your support helps us to continue to fulfill our mission of creating a world where there are only abilities!
